Refund Policy

1. Scope
This Refund Policy applies to all UPI contributions made through Piece of Cake (pieceofcake.party), operated by LEARNING PATHS TECHNOLOGIES LLP, India. It covers guest contributions to gift pools and, where applicable, any platform fees charged to event hosts. This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Event Cancelled by Host
If an event host cancels an event before the event date:
- All guest contributions will be refunded in full to the original UPI source within 7 business days.
- Platform fees (if any) charged to the host are non-refundable once the event page has been live and accepting contributions.
- We will notify all contributing guests by email/WhatsApp upon cancellation.
Post-event cancellations (after the event date has passed) are handled case-by-case. If funds have already been disbursed to the host, refunds to guests are the host's responsibility. Contact us at hey@pieceofcake.party if you have a dispute.
3. Gift Pool Target Not Met
If a gift pool closes without reaching its funding target by the event date:
- Automatic refund: All contributions are automatically refunded in full within 7 business days of the event date.
- Alternatively, the host may choose to accept the partial pool (e.g. to select a lower-cost gift). Hosts must opt in within 24 hours of the event. If no opt-in is received, automatic refunds proceed.
- We will notify all contributors of the outcome by email/WhatsApp.
4. Guest Contribution Refunds
4.1 Before the deadline (48 hours before event)
- Guests may request a refund for any reason up to 48 hours before the event start time.
- Refund requests must be submitted via our contact form or by emailing hey@pieceofcake.party with the subject line "Refund Request — [Event Name]".
- Approved refunds are processed to the original UPI source within 5 business days.
4.2 Within 48 hours of event or after
- Refunds are at the host's discretion once the 48-hour window has passed.
- In exceptional circumstances (e.g. documented medical emergency), contact us and we will mediate with the host on a goodwill basis.
- Once funds have been disbursed to the host, Piece of Cake cannot recover them on a guest's behalf.
5. Technical Failures
If your UPI payment was debited from your bank account but not reflected in the gift pool within 2 hours:
- Email us at hey@pieceofcake.party with subject "Failed UPI — [your UPI transaction reference]" and attach your bank debit confirmation.
- We will investigate and, if the failure is confirmed on our end, issue a full refund within 5 business days.
- If the failure is on your bank's side, we will provide you the transaction trace ID to follow up with your bank.
6. How Refunds Are Processed
- All refunds are returned to the original UPI VPA (Virtual Payment Address) used for the contribution.
- We cannot redirect refunds to a different UPI ID or bank account.
- Once initiated, refunds typically reflect in your UPI-linked bank account within 3–5 business days (timing depends on your bank).
- You will receive an email/WhatsApp confirmation when your refund is initiated.
7. Non-Refundable Items
- Platform fees charged to hosts after the event has gone live
- UPI transaction charges levied by your bank or UPI provider
- Contributions made after the 48-hour guest refund window has closed and the event took place as planned
8. How to Request a Refund

- Use subject: "Refund Request — [Event Name]"
- Include: your name, UPI ID used, amount contributed, event name, and reason for refund
- Attach your UPI payment screenshot or transaction reference
- We'll acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 7 business days
9. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (India). If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the relevant consumer forum.
